������Ƶ Goes Global (“������ƵG”) is an administrative unit of the ������Ƶ (������Ƶ) that partners with ������Ƶ institutions to provide quality, affordable, and impactful faculty-led study abroad programs for undergraduate students. ������Ƶ Goes Global offers an interesting mix of core and special topics courses, appealing to a multitude of majors & degree programs and suitable for students at any stage in their academic career. Connecting students & faculty from institutions across Georgia, different institutional perspectives converge to facilitate a unique international experience with an added layer of cross-cultural engagement.

������ƵG centralizes all administrative aspects of study abroad programming, which allows faculty to focus on academic content & maximize the educational benefits, supports an equitable financial model with standard rates for both faculty salary & student tuition, and reinforces risk management with system-wide oversight. By leveraging the power of the entire university system and using innovative technology, existing ������Ƶ systems, & proven study abroad best practices, ������Ƶ Goes Global will keep programs accessible, cost-effective, safe, and functional.

History: The ������Ƶ World Regional Councils provide opportunities for both students and faculty to broaden their understanding of individual world regions by promoting activities that enrich teaching and research about these regions. Approximately 30 years ago, the ������Ƶ assisted in the creation of one study abroad program to London via the ������Ƶ European World Regional Council. With the creation of ������Ƶ Goes Global, the ������Ƶ International Education system office took on the administrative burden of running study abroad programs from the World Regional Councils so that faculty may concentrate on academic oversight and offering impactful experiences on the ground. And in Summer 2019, ������Ƶ Goes Global worked with the ������Ƶ European Council to operate six ������Ƶ Goes Global programs traveling to the following European destinations: Edinburgh, Scotland; London, England; Madrid, Spain; Paris, France; St. Petersburg, Russia; Waterford, Ireland. For the future, ������Ƶ Goes Global looks forward to continued collaboration with the ������Ƶ World Regional Councils to offer these cost-effective study abroad programs in even more destinations!
