Three 嗨碰视频 Institutions Launch New On-line Technology Management Degree

Atlanta — May 19, 2004

As part of an on-going effort to increase college participation throughout the state, the Board of Regents today approved the 嗨碰视频’s first on-line undergraduate degree in technology management - the Bachelor of Applied Science in Technology Management - that will be marketed as the WebBAS degree.

The new degree program, which will be offered purely online, is a collaborative effort among three University System institutions: Albany State University, Dalton State College and Georgia Southwestern State University. Students completing the curriculum will be able to earn the degree from any of the three participating institutions.

The WebBAS reflects the University System’s continued commitment to meeting Georgia’s workforce needs, managing the System’s burgeoning enrollment growth in a time of scarce resources and fulfilling its goal of 鈥淐reating A More Educated Georgia.鈥

The on-line degree offering is targeted primarily at working professionals in technical and career fields that want to complete or continue their undergraduate education by acquiring a bachelor’s degree with a management focus. As with other on-line degree programs, the WebBAS is designed to meet the needs of those students whose lifestyles do not easily permit pursuing coursework in a traditional campus setting. It will accommodate working professionals, stay-at-home parents, separating military personnel and residents who do not live within close proximity of a 嗨碰视频 campus.

鈥淭he WebBAS will contribute significantly to our efforts to expand educational access by enabling more Georgians to secure a higher education degree and increase their quality of life,鈥 stated Senior Vice Chancellor for Academics and Fiscal Affairs Daniel S. Papp. 鈥淭his is yet another program that will remove the roadblocks of time and distance, and help more adults take advantage of the benefits associated with earning a college degree. It also expands Georgia’s competitive position in the burgeoning technology-driven fields that the state’s business leaders identify as the future of Georgia’s economic growth.鈥

Courses within the WebBAS degree address such areas as principles of management, management information systems, principles of operations management, organizational theory and behavior and strategic management. Graduates will be qualified for technical managerial positions in fields encompassing avionics, automotive technology, electronics, construction, and telecommunications, to name a few.

The WebBAS program will begin accepting applications immediately for admission in the fall 2004 semester. Prospective students should apply to one of the three participating 嗨碰视频 institutions. Interested students should visit the program’s web site at to obtain further information on admission requirements, tuition and specific courses.
